I agree with you on all seven - in fact I’d add three more: long nail extensions (on old hands), hair scraped back in a too-tight ponytail and brassy yellow hair.

You have read my mind on all of these things! The 2 things I would add are those fake, thick eyelashes (that seem to drag the eye down), and those long, fake pointy nails. So unflattering imho., ❤

I have just found your channel….and I am thrilled! At 72 years young, your points are well taken. I know too that some will disagree, and we should do our hair, our makeup, etc in the way we prefer. However, sometimes I wonder ….does she have any friends who will tell her hard truths!🤪 I had to laugh hardest at the “Old lady haircut”. My hairdresser, who is in her late 30’s, has NEVER suggested this to me. I was heartened to see your thin, fine hair cut as mine with bangs. I keep it about shoulder length and can easily pull it back. And I feel the bangs soften the facial features. Thanks for a lovely video….on to watch more now. You are a very happy find. Be well❤😊

I’ve seen plenty of older women with short hair that look great as well as others with long hair that look great. Choosing a hair style when you are older is no different than choosing one when you are young. What looks best on a particular person depends on their face shape as well as hair texture and thickness. Let’s please throw rules out the window with regards to aging and hair styles.

New subscriber! I'm almost 70. I can't applaude you enough about tattoos, and wild piercings! I've always thought that tattoos were not only unnecessary but ugly! Absolutely ppl don't think ahead what their skin will look like older, and colorful tattoos on older skin will fade underneath crepy flesh...it's ugly, and they're rather permanent! And piercings..it's just too much, and it, too, can really look ugly, and these ideas thus diminish the feminine beauty that should be every woman's goal esp as we get older. Additionally, these "witchy" looking nails .. they are horrible😮! I also agree with the other statements about beauty mistakes that you said as well!❤

Somehow I find myself 65 years old, and I still have long hair ... but with layers and bangs/fringes. I see it as my personal style, and am glad there are no style police running around telling me I'm too old for it. The old rules about what was 'appropriate' for different ages and phases are thankfully gone!

I did want to compliment you particularly on what you said in #2: that your subscribers advised you to soften your brows, and you listened to them.

To me, that is is quite a display of grace on your part! Gentle, sincere critique can open our eyes to rather easy changes. Good on you!

I agree with all you have said. I follow all the points you make about make-up and hair, and I'm amazed at how many women just give up bothering with their appearance as they get older. I hate tattoos as well, would never have one. My sons toyed with getting one or two when teens, but knew I'd go mad. Now in their 30's, all are tattoo free and actually really quite pleased they didn't get any.

I slowed down with my makeup application after noticing the older woman on The Real Housewives shows. When fresh faced with minimal makeup the woman looked 10-15 years younger than when in full glam. This is with professional makeup artists applying makeup for them. I am a person who loves makeup and the ritual of putting it on but I look much better with less.

❤ your video! One point here, if your eyelashes have gone really thin and short like mine, a subtle false eyelash can be your best friend. I wear them alone without any other eye makeup. No liner or shadow. On me it really helps to define my eyes and looks very natural. It does take a bit of practice to get them on right, but once you get it, it's very fast to do.

I'm 66 and I hate tattos as well and piercing, except on the ears. I agree with your points, Dez! I have the same hairdo as you, by the way, fringe with shoulder-length bob (I cut it myself), I find it's versatile...you can wear it loose, up in a jaw clip or back in a ponytail.

Bravo for being brave to speak your thoughts. I think you did so respectfully and clearly that they were your own opinions. I had a short haircut in 7th grade, i wanted a Dorothy Hammel, and it looked horrendous. I vowed it would never ever be above my ear lobes again.

Almost agree, in my 60s, have a couple tattoos that o love, and have long blonde highlighted hair ….. so there ..😂🤣. Have just subscribed though 😉

I agree with you 💯 percent! I do have 3 tattoos for which I never asked for. 3 dots for radiation due to breast cancer. But I wear with pride.
Every thing else you are spot on it's a weird world we live in but I guess you all can do what they wish. ❤

I agree with everything you said in this video. And I generally don't like tattoos. But after someone I loved died, I got a tattoo with his last words tattooed on my arm. Because of the nature of my tattoo, I don't care who thinks whatever about it, it's there for me as a reminder of someone who loved me when things get rough.

I agree with everything you said. Sound advice for sure. Another suggestion perhaps is lip liner that is darker than the lip stick shade…and black eyeliner under lower lashes. It makes me crazy!!! 😂

Hi Dez! I agree with everything you said! I remember when I was younger toying with the idea of a very small “hidden” tattoo. But for whatever reason, I never got one and I’m happy with that decision. I have a couple of friends who now getting older, regret getting their tattoos.
Now on to my favorite part of the video….I absolutely cracked up when you said “give me a short haircut because I’m an old woman!” Oh Dez! You are hilarious !! 😂😂😂
