I never thought I would hear the phrase "two rival ornithologists, " but here we are! I might just have to read "The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love" now.

I mostly lurk and like but just wanted to say that all the work you do for NFN is very much appreciated, especially given there's so little celebration of reading non-fiction on booktube as a whole. (For the algorithm: 📚)

Oh man, Olive. Thank you for all the years of NFN. I had always read nonfiction, but that event really pushed me to read even more, and I have found so many good books and have learned so much because of it. Going forward, maybe you can just come up with the prompts?

Hope you enjoy The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love, I bought that when it came out and it just seems like fun read. I'm reading Through the Looking Glass and The Princess and Curdie by George MacDonald for Victober. Bite sounds interesting so can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Dopesick (the TV series) is great, very emotionally hard to watch but deeply touching

Hi Olive, I have one book that has turned out to be my #1 for this year. Called Chasing Aphrodite: The Hunt for Looted Antiquities at the World's Richest Museum (Turned out to be The Getty and the Met) by Jason Felch & Ralph Famolino. This is a true page turner, totally researched and a finalist for the Pulitzer!!! These used to be 2 of my favorites and I was beyond sad (and ANGRY) to hear about the folks running them!! I had thought they were smarter than that. Truly broke my heart totally a non-fiction book!!

I haven't read the book, but I greatly enjoyed the Dopesick mini series!
I watched it after I finished reading Empire of Pain and I think they balance each other really well.

I have added 2 Beth Macy books to my wishlist today just from this video alone - Dopesick and Factory Man.
I have always preferred to read Non fiction as opposed to fiction, so I love your TBR and recommendation videos.
I am also looking forward to non fiction November this year.

Bite by Bill Schutt I read through Netgalley and I enjoyed it. I learned a lot from the book and I was surprised by some of the facts I found out about, but I love educating myself on things like this because I find it fascinating 😊 I hope u enjoy it

I want to read Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux this month because of Halloween. Other than that, I tend to be a mood reader and just read whatever fits my fancy but The Ornitholigist's Field Guide to Love sounds interesting.

Can I recommend Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton. I thought of you straight away when I read this and think it might be right up your alley. It is about a woman and her friendship with a wild hare that occurred when we went into world lockdown with Covid. The nature writing is beautiful as is the journey of a baby leveret into a fully grown hare. The book manages to make the reader feel as if they are there for the journey and also gain awareness of the balance between human and animals.

Hello been watching your channel for years and have always been super interested in the books you have on the bookshelves behind you! I try to zoom in but just doesn't work! Maybe do a segment on the books behind you, especially non fiction ( my true love) just a thought! ❤

I promised a friend that I would start the All Souls Trilogy for October. It's about vampires, so it fits.
