Here is a close look at our racing pigeon drop trap!! Simple design based off Belgium Sputnik traps that works beautifully!! I personally prefer it over bob traps. Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments!! What type of racing pigeon trap do you like best? Let me know in the comments!

Simple but brilliant. I will have to make this to replace my existing rotting trap. Many thanks, I enjoyed your video. Ken in the UK.

Hi Thank you for posting your measurements. I've always used wire traps but experience hesitation. So I built a mock one and see no hesitation at all. Again Thanks

Awesome work. I change my pigeon drop trap design almost yearly and they still suck. You have good wood working skills. I would try your model next, but built by me it would probably look like crap. You also have bigger pigeons as I see them, many of my birds would still escape through those 4 inch holes.

Since the pigeons all showed their love for the new trap with the nod of their heads what else is there for me to do but love it also. Nice!

I just installed one of these in my loft today I bought it but now plan on reverse engineering it and changing my racing sections to this style for next season. Will just have to make a chute type platform for the antenna.

I like this drop trap idea. I'm working on drawing up the plans for my pigeon loft. I would like to use sliding windows like you did with the same or similar drop trap idea. My big question about the loft is ventilation. I've noticed a bigger vent near the bottom of your loft in your videos. Is there a certain one you recommend or size? I just want to make sure I provide the birds with enough fresh air for ventilation. Thanks for your input! Enjoy your channel!

I used either 45 or 90 degree (forget which one it was) PVC elbows and it worked really well for my kit box.

I use three 4” PVC 45 degree elbows. So 3 birds can trap at once. Works great. It obstructs the view to the inside say if a hawk was thinking about entering the loft.

Have you had issues with Coopers or Sharp-shinned hawks getting through the openings and into the coop?

I use a drop trap as well. One problem I've found is that the birds barely slow down when coming in and if you are using a antenna and there are a lot of birds trapping the antenna can miss some of the birds. I had to build something that slowed the birds down when they were trapping so the antenna picked them all up.
