Cleavers are great. Heavy so you can smash stuff, nice long flat blade for consistent cuts, and the width means it doubles as a scooper to pick up all those diced veggies.

I worked in a Chinese restaurant and I never saw our head chef Mr. Chen use anything other than a cleaver. Dude was slick with it, could literally do anything. He taught me a lot.

I do this when i make burgers. 2 cleavers and just chop it into mince. I find the texture to be way better and also taste better.

I have never in my life felt the need to buy a cleaver...until this very moment.

My cleavers have been my go-to prep knives since I got my first one in the 80's. I own ten of them. Before you buy one research them a bit. Most people don't know they come in sizes 1-5. You also don't need a custom expensive one either.

I became sort of obsessed with getting a cleaver thanks to Made with Lau. Mine is nothing fancy, but it’s definitely a game changer. They look intimidating but they’re so powerful and make meal prep a breeze.
can’t wait to f up some squash in the fall with it😂

Nice, I've never used my cleaver before because I always think of its use as cutting meat with bones

Does anyone know if it is people to find cleavers with no handle? Like one where you put your hand on top of it to hold it

Cleaners works best on hard wood cutting surface, the thicker the better. No plastic nor bamboo laminates.

My cleaver is ancient and has some Chinese simbles on it that are barley readable i want to get it professionally restored because the handle also has a 40 degree swivel so if it wasn't as dull as it is it would be a safety hazard

If you smash garlic with a cleaver, just be careful about the bladed side.
