I generally play Articuno ex, but I’ve been having fun with Lapras ex with Butterfree.
There was one match where the opponent thought he had the two-shot. Before I played the first Butterfree and double Potion from my hand. 80 healing in one turn, and he couldn’t ramp up a benched Pokémon fast enough.

Dragonite ex lately caught my interest lately. Yes its inconsistent with energies but non the less I found it fun and throwing Giovanni onto it

I agree with Pokédex. Its purpose is to decide to shuffle or not to shuffle. Pretty useful for every deck especially those Articuno players.

In my opinion, red card is useless in non tournament play if open deck list. In a, open deck list tournament, 1 copy of red card is a good idea since your opponent has to work around a possible red card.

I definitely disagree with red card the only time that thing is effective is when you have scope. Admittedly scope red card has been used on me twice so far and they both saw I had the evo ready next turn. Of course I got red card. 1 cost me the game. The other nothing changed cuz I drew back the evo. Using red card when the opponent has a big hand is the worst play. If your hand is getting big you have nothing to play. Why risk giving them effectively a draw 3 card at the cost of their bricked hand? This has been my experience. Players will realize sooner or later it’s better to have dupe mains and dupe supporters. At that point red card matters not. The cards I see as a must are 2 pokeball, 2 oak, at least 1 Sabrina and at least 1 Giovanni. X speed really depends a bit more on deck. No point I’m using an x speed if you got wall fodder to support you building energy for your main. Its purpose is to soak damage and die then you can come back with the ex swing. In this case potion could possibly buy another turn for you. If they don’t have Giovanni. Most people I run into have two.

Potion has come in clutch so many time for my opponents but that’s because I never got a Giovanni. Finally got 1 last night so I gotta put that in. Potion is perhaps the worst. It will only save you against baby attacks. Means nothing against ex attacks. But it some cases it can buy a turn…I would perhaps always choose Giovanni over potion. I don’t consider lapras ex good. The recovery matters not when eating an ex attack. Vaporean is also trash it’s a weaker lapras ex. Venasuar too it’s a more energy intensive and has evos to get through. sorry not sorry.

Any reason not to just play farfetch'd rather than fossils? One colorless energy for 40 damage, also has 20 more health than the fossils

It would be nice if most players would get a little more creative than constantly using the power houses that are charizard/Moltress, Articuno ex/misty, Mewtwo/gardevoire.

Red card is terrible. Every card in a 20 card deck counts.

I can only see running it in Articuno EX X2 decks. Because there's not much else to fill the deck with.

Outside of that, you are blindly rolling the dice every time you use it. It's only effective with Hand Scope. With both, you take up two card slots you could have used for item or supporter cards.

Dropping a 5 hand down to 3 for the opponent doesn't mean anything with these tiny deck sizes. Why do you think they have 5 cards in their hand? Because they can't play them. The game isn't complicated enough to be holding 5 cards for no reason. You are helping your opponent by giving them a free mulligan/shuffle.
