WWE 2K22 - 15 Things You ABSOLUTELY Need To Know Before You Buy

The WWE 2K franchise hit its lowest ever point with WWE 2K20, to the extent that the series had to take a year off to sort out the mess it had landed itself in. WWE 2K22 is coming soon, and will be hoping to bring the series back to form, and it's making more than a few interesting changes in its attempt to do that.

Ahead of its looming release, here, we're going to take a look at a few key details you should know about the game.

edit/update: I decided to get it on release and I don't regret it at all. The new gameplay is refreshing and familiar. It does kind of feel like a Street Fighter/Tekken style now with combos and such, but you pick it up real quick once you play for a few hours. I don't think this game is going to drop in price that quickly given it's positive reception.

Why can't they do a career mode like the old smackdown games where you can pick your favourite wrestler instead of creating a character rinse and repeat.

These are 15 things everyone already knows from just the trailers. How about you mention the things they don't want you to know until you buy it. Like stuff they removed, like advanced custom entrance feature or that the GM mode is very limited. How the GM mode was more advanced in the older games than in this one.

had it sense the pre-release date, everything runs smooth for the most part so far. some animations are a little buggy but nothing they cant fix with a patch and nothing that renders the game unplayable.I give the game thus far a 8/10. Fix the slightly buggy animations and it will be a gem, and big ups to the creator mode in the audio options.

What I would love to see in a wrestling game like the WWE games. Is take for example if you create a wrestler and say you say he's from Los Angeles California and an universe mode or my career or my story if raw or smackdown is in St Louis then the crowd will be louder for you when you come out like take for example Randy Orton is from St Louis and ever are smackdown in the game is in St Louis then the crowd there will be be louder for Randy Orton because that is where he's from.

Too late. Already bought it and been playing it. Reys showcase is one of my favorite things about the game. Plus his west coast pop is back along with so many attires! The game is smooth af!

This game is 2K20.2, devs lied to us.
This is an honest rant and I truly wanted the game to be 'good'. I have been playing Smackdown games since 1999.
They couldn't implement create an entrance because that's what made the game crashes in 2k20???!!
That means that they used the same engine and the same code, they never create a new engine from the ground up like they said.
In youtubers videos (that 2K is taking down) we start seeing the same glitches/issue that in 2k20.
And there are not many videos out there yet but in 4 of them they were already 4 obvious bugs/glitches.
There are 2 videos backstage: in one, a table stands magically in the air between superstars for 10 seconds, in the other Kevin Owens walks in a loop against an invisible wall for 15 seconds...
In another gameplay video (a female royal rumble), same issue : one superstar walk in loop against the ropes...
In each GAMEPLAY video I have seen there are hit detection/collision issues.
In another video, a superstar interrupts the victory scene of the winner (still in the ring). The superstar interrupting the victory is supposed to be in the stage but we don't know who it was since the camera was directed to the top of the titantron....

Of course the game looks better, they changed the graphics, the UI, the controls... but the core of it is the same.
The creation suite is a perfect example... absolutely nothing changes, not a single part except for the presentation. Unfortunately, Universe Mode won't be any different.
I predict the same bugs as in 2k20, like no sweat during victory scene for example.
2K couldn't do in 2 year and a half what Yukes was doing in 1 year. Same code, same engine... expect same bugs.
Right now, a youtuber has already addressed the 2K is taking down videos. Of course, they don't want anything that is not clean cut by them to hit youtube before release.

I am not 100% sold on this game yet. I have been burned out with the WWE 2K games in my humble opinion. Once I see more gameplay and see it on sale, I'll consider it.
