You really don't have to overthink tucking, I once did the barrel emote on a sloop right next to the wheel and they didn't notice

Been a solo slooper for to long, i get paranoid way to easily and will thoroughly check my ship if even the slightest thing feels off. Crows nest and sails to the lowest deck, fore to aft, starboard to port ladders, wheel to mizzenmast. Once I've checked every nook and cranny then and only then it's the paranoid monster fed.

I once had someone tuck on my sloop while I was out doing a bunch of simple gold and skelly gathering quests with a friend of mine - it was just us two. I hadn’t noticed we were being stalked and tucked on until I had briefly used the spyglass to look over and check on our ship out of habit. That’s when I saw whoever was on it, wearing the classic all-black tucker attire, quickly tuck and try to hide back into the mast cross beam part under the crow’s nest because he was most likely readjusting his position.
I was in a call with my friend, so I quickly ushered him to run to the ship for repairs because I then let out the most maniacal cackle as I took out my sniper rifle…

And immediately sent that poor tucking fool to the Ferryman by blowing up my own stash of like 3 kegs that I had up in that crows nest. 💀💦🫣 Seeing his little green spirit poof from across the island had me rolling lmao.

I remember once I found a barely emoted guy in my sloop (I was doing merchant delivery in the roar)
Don’t ask how he did it but let’s just say that a diagonal barrel in the air isn’t the most common thing

An underrated spot is behind the door that's next to the bed inside the captains quarters between the door and the nightstand.

Nothing beats the „kneel down emote“ into the wall next to the bed. Extra points if youre using the double pegleg and skelly curse - then there will only be 2 little woodstumps visible sticking out of the wall occasionally

Great spots actually, just don't use emotes to hide that move your pirate, we humans are actually really good at detecting motion that comes from where we wouldn't expect it.
Even when your well camouflaged, and not a white Skeletten on a black ship, even then motion can give your spot away. Also hiding motionless by the stairs of a galleon works great too.

The hide emote is a free emote obtainable through the pirate emporium

Easiest way to find it is set filter to emotes then sort by cheapest

Be careful on the masts. When the ship starts to move, you might fall off or have your emote reset

Theres longcoats that make is blend in MUCH better.
You can also hide trease inside of wooden structures like opulent trinkets and skulls. The shine doesnt come through wood either so if you hide treasure like that its a good way to seem broke but actually be stacked
