I do my painting business differently. I do a quote for free online as a price guaranteed to cover the paint job. Then I give an estimate on what I think it’s actually going to cost when I see it in person. So I may quote 6000 then estimate the actual cost at 5300. Then when the job is finished they are charged what it costs based on time and materials. So the actual cost could be 5368.50. If for any reason the actual cost goes over the 6000 quote, my client only pays 6000. My quotes are just that, you can quote me on this amount covering the job. 99 percent of the time the actual cost is less than my quote and that’s what they will pay. This must be why i don’t have any work right now.
