In this video I show you how to use the sampling and slicing tools in Maschine to construct a beat with the new Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3. I show you how to select a sample, and then use the sample editor to slice the sample so that you can activate it on different pads. I also show you how to use the choke function to create a choke group so that pads will silence when activating another one. I show you how to adjust your slices and then lay them out on pads to trigger. I then add a baseline and drums to the beat using the Maschine Mikro MK3 and kits and add a third-party effect plugin to add some lo-fi sound to the beat. Then I show you how to adjust the third-party effect.

Thanks! I didn't quite understand what I bought, and was very confused. This helped explain some, still confused, but lot less.

I decided to buy myself one of these for xmas, as they are incredibly cheap these days especially when you consider you get machine 3 and the new sample pack included, I’ve been trying to figure out how i get my slices on to the pads like you did for a few hours without success, but you’ve solved the issue in a few minutes, thanks Sanjay, hope you are having a wonderful Christmas & happy new year 2025 🎹🎬🎸

On the road for the first time in a while. Couldn’t bring my Maschine due to baggage space, but have my laptop, an M32, and my plugin HD. I’ve used the Maschine (and plus) hardware so much that ended up buying a Mikro today in Salt Lake City (live in Dallas) since it have room for it in my carry on. Didn’t know this video was out there, but am so grateful for it! I basically understand how it works, but enjoyed your take on it and some of those tips. Thanks!
