Stories like this are ridiculous. The man had everything but lost it because of his obsession with the interne....uh, the Spirit of Seeing, but what about those who had little? The spirit could show the weak how to be strong, the fearful how to be brave. It could teach the poor how to enrich their lives in many ways, the sad paths to happiness, and it can connect the lonely to each other and help them become one. The Spirit of Seeing was never the villain in this story. It was the man who couldn't control his urges, and who took a tool that could've helped him and so many others and wasted it on nonsense.

The internet isn't a devil. It's a tool. It's up to YOU to learn how to use it, and up to you to be sure you don't abuse it. A hammer is a tool that can build, or it can destroy. It's up to the one holding it to decide what to do with it.

I started with nofap 2 months ago, I quit all social medias 6 months ago except youtube, I have change my diet, I have so so much more energy and I recover double faster after the gym. This story is incredible. Replace that "evil spirit" with the "internet" and you have the modern form of the story.
The spirit would've helped him win fights by seeing the opponents strategy in advance for example and could've had many POSITIVE uses. Just like the internet. But the warrior chose otherwise. Just like we make the wrong choices about how to use the internet everyday. We could use it to gain more knowledge, assign a certain amount of the day for that purpose. But no. We make a bad choice and embrace weakness through 24×7 entertainment

It's obvious that the spirit in this story is supposed to represent the internet. Internet is not your enemy, it's a tool. A Tool that has the potential to either make you, or destroy you if you don't use it properly so use it wisely and don't let its temptations get the better of you. Don't let it control you. Control it. As long as your discipline and self-control remains high not even the never ending temptations of the internet will break you.

Man this is totally me. My life went spiraling down when I was bullied at school, I wasn't particularly a good student but I had no trouble at anything, then my dad had to leave for working abroad for 5 years. It was like having no dad, my mom couldn't bear it alone. I got super depressed got secluded at home playing video games for a year and dropped out. I also got so fat. Next year I went back to school and passed all my exams.

Although I fucked up plenty of times after that, I wanted to be a soldier you know..

So here I am now, 23(24 this month) and no purpose or will to live. This last year though I decided I wanted to give life another chance and try to change, and lost plenty of weight, I will try to join my country's army in July and if I don't manage to get in I will try next year again.

I'm super scared because I think that if I ever get in the army once I serve I will end up homeless.. that is kinda holding me back a little bit though..
