As an Airbnb host, I can’t even tell you how many guest I’ve had completely make things up to try to get a free or partially refunded stay.

Seriously 1mg slower than what they advertised? Let me guess, when the internet is 1mg slower than they told you, you ask for a massive refund and still stay at the airbnb. FYI everyone knows that internet speeds can vary, the host probably told you what the internet provider told them.

I never deny a refund if there is a family or pet situation. But when people ask a list of questions I just do not guarantee. Had a guest stay use the room left menstrual stains all over even the toilet lid had an imprint of her who-ha and on the last day she called and said that I threaten her to the point that she could not leave the room and waited until the last night to sneak out for her life. I had a camera at the entrance that caught her casually leave and entering several times a day. Stole a charger. So she had to pay for everything that she destroyed and no refund.

I just got to my Airbnb, it was full of dust smelled heavily of cat urine, it had mold in the bathroom and dirt under couches and beds. Also a urine stain on the mattress. We had to leave the Airbnb and get a hotel. I called and reported this to Airbnb and the host. Also sent pictures of all of this and they say I can’t get a refund because the host is denying all of it and won’t give a refund.

We are currently in an Airbnb and the air conditioning is not cooling. We have been here for 48 hours, and scheduled to stay for 28 nights, and we notified the host last night of the issue. The stated they would send someone out around 2pm today, but it is not 530pm and nobody. I reached back out, and no response yet. We even bought two fans for our room and our children's room to try to make it less miserable. We have taken photos of the thermostat and a thermometer we bought. Do we have a leg to stand on when we decide to vacate and request a refund of unused days?

That excuse didn't work for me when I contacted abnb. As you did, I also messaged the host asking for the actual speed in mbps since it wasn't shown in the listing. I did a speedtest and told the host, nope, i'm leaving. I contacted support and they denied me a refund because the speed was not shown in the listing.

I did not get a refund even though I told Airbnb it is not as described. There was no dedicated workspace inside a room with a door. Also did not know that the unrefundable 30 days also meant I can’t stay for that time I already paid.

Alot of negative comments here must mean alot or people have never actually stayed with an air bnb and gotten screwed

hosts are now working to force people to book more than one room for a time, and leaving the guest with double bills.

There are a plenty of factors that affect internet speeds such as networking congestion, interference, ISP throttling, available bandwidth. I don’t agree with your get out clause if it’s 1mbps slower than verified speed on the listing. That’s harsh.

Wow... this is evil. The fact that there are videos giving advice to guests on how to stay in an Airbnb for a few hours and then get out without having to pay anything is disgusting.
