Dovetail Fireside Chat – Thomas & Friends™ is coming to Train Sim World!

We are delighted to announce that Mattel’s Thomas & Friends™ is coming to Train Sim World next year!

Our Executive Producer Matt Peddlesden explains more about bringing Thomas to Train Sim World, and both chat with special guest Ian McCue, about his involvement with Thomas & Friends over the years.

In collaboration with our friends at Mattel, Thomas & Friends™ Visit the West Somerset Railway will be an Add-on coming to Train Sim World next year. Naturally, the star of the show is Thomas the Tank Engine, with his friends Annie and Clarabel joining him. Adding an element of mischief is Diesel and the Troublesome Trucks. What will they get up to?

Unlike previous Add-ons, the gameplay here is entirely story-driven, with a fun narrative that follows the adventures of Thomas and his friends during their visit to the West Somerset Railway.

People aren't seeing the bigger picture here.

First off, Thomas has always been big and has huge global appeal worldwide, so to have Thomas in the DTG stable means more revenue that will get more people playing meaning more routes can get made for the fans to drive or guard on.

If by some luck the Island Of Sodor, which incidentally according to the late Rev Awdry, is an island situated in-between the UK and the Isle Of Man, can get made then we will able to have a change from driving mainline passenger or freight trains to hopefully being able to drive Thomas, Toby, Percy or Edward and spend some down time from our everyday lives and indulge in something many of us have wanted to and actually be a driver for the Fat Controller.

Hi dear Dovetail Games team aka Train Sim World 5 team.

I'm very happy to hear that Thomas and friends will be appearing in Train Sim World 5.

For me, Thomas and friends is the children's series from my childhood. The version with the real model locomotives ^^'

I'm looking forward to the stories that you'll let us experience with Thomas.

I secretly hope that the feedback will be very positive. Because I would love a spin-off of Train Sim World that would only revolve around Thomas and friends. A game that retains the down-to-earth nature of Train Sim World, but simplifies the game mechanics for children. (Optional expert controls for adults should also be included in the game. ^^')

A storytelling, simulation game that lets us experience the adventures of Thomas and friends ^^
