This is incorrect, their primary function is to bring the keys on top rows closer. Oliver has long fingers so this isn't a problem for him personally. Try extending your fingers and you'll see they form an arc that's going up

Does the height of the keyboard itself and the keys matter? Are shallower (laptop-like) keyboards better?
