My dad was a police officer- a good one and a kind one-, a fire fighter, and a paramedic. He’s also now a volunteer firefighter as well as a volunteer emt. He raised two kids (one with a bunch of mental illnesses- me- and is still extremely romantic with my mother. And he’s very kind and knows how to make us smile

My father in law was a police officer, and then created his own security business. He took me in when my own parents rejected me, forgave me when he discovered I was dating his daughter, forgave me again when I got in trouble with the law and his cop buddies gave him shit for it, and has been more of a role model in my life than any other person. I have nothing but deep respect, admiration, and love for that man, and I was honored and blessed when he gave me his blessing to join his family.
