Classic Game Room reviews the NINTENDO GAMECUBE videogame console from Nintendo released in 2001. This CGR video review of the Nintendo GameCube hardware shows the black Nintendo Gamecube and silver Gamecube controller. This GameCube has the Game Boy Adapter which player Gameboy videogames, Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color. The GameCube was a competitor to the Sony Playstation 2, Xbox and Sega Dreamcast. Many of the popular GameCube games can be easily found today like Metroid Prime, Mario Kart Double Dash and Resident Evil 4. The Nintendo Gamecube is Nintendo's first primary optical disc based video game console and it uses memory cards. Gamecube games can be played on the Nintendo Wii today.

The 6th generation of gaming was definitely the best by far. The PlayStation 2, GameCube, (New kid on the block...Original XBOX), & SEGA Dreamcast. So many fun, innovative, creativity, & classic games were published year, after year, after year. I miss that era (2000-2006).

In particular for GameCube, we spent three years working with Nintendo of America and with all sorts of developers, trying to understand the challenges, needs, and problems they face. First among these is the rising cost of development. The GameCube can see high performance without too much trouble; it isn’t a quirky design, but a very clean one. It was important we didn’t require jumping through hoops for high performance to be achieved. On top of that, it is rich in features, and we worked to include a dream group of technical features that developers requested.

I still have my original Gamecube from 2001 and it still works like a charm! So many great games; it's a shame the console was so underrated. It had better graphics than the PS2 and was $100 cheaper.

I have memories of the past...

one day, when i was 11, i asked this guy in my class if i could rent his gamecube controller, memory card and luigi's mansion, stairfax temperatures and some kind of generic star wars game. he said yes. it was a rainy, dark day. when i came home to my wii, i plugged it on and played luigi's mansion.

that was the best part of my life. period.

I remember playing Gamecube when I was like 6 or 8 years old with my best friend. We had so much fun playing Mario Kart and all that, we were truly best friends since children until when we turned 15 he got a girlfriend and forgot about the good old days ... so sad.

to this day, i still consider the gamecube controller to be the best, most comfortable, quality built gaming controller of all time.

This, the PS2 and Xbox were the last simple consoles. The fact that the newer systems (PS3, 360) make you go though menus and shit when you just wanna play a game is ridiculous. The newest consoles are even worse. With this, you just a put a game in, turn it on, and you're done. 20 second task. I don't know how they fucked up something as simple as that.
