Wargreymon vs BlackWargreymon: Who was HOLDING BACK?

I also think it makes sense narratively for wargereymon to hold back. Blackwargreymon was fighting to kill, he wasn’t pulling his punches, but i don’t think wargreymon was fighting to kill. He was fighting to stop blackwargreymon, and to try to reason with him, and also become his friend. I think he even says during the fight something along lines of we don’t need to fight and we can be friends.

There's also another difference between the two war greymons. Wargreymon has a higher defense, Black WarGreymon doesn't and has a higher offense due to the black digitron.

One example, before destroying the last destiny stone, all three of the Digidestin's Digimon that were refused the ultimate level broke blackwargreymon's shield. WarGreymons was never damaged and he only used it once (considering season 2 is the ONLY time they use their shields).

And *both* their armors are made of CHROME DIGIZOID, Right?

Have to point out that when Ken captured Agumon, he had a hard time controlling him until he crafted the dark spiral to better control metalgreymon. During that time we do not see Agumon digivolve into any Mega level Digimon so there's a good possibility that he would have been able to resist those attempts of mind-control had he been at Mega level.
Yeah, WarGreymon was definitely holding back. Agumon saw BlackWarGreymon as a friend, and was fighting to restrain him not to defeat or destroy him.

I believe WarGreymon was holding back because first, he went through many battles against the Dark Masters and Apocalymon, plus other battles before that, therby increasing his overall strength. Furthermore, WarGreymon wanted BlackWarGreymon to be his friend. Also, Gabumon had learned from Agumon about BlackWarGreymon asking the soul-searching questions about his heart, unlike the other Control Spire Digimon. Also, WarGreymon had to be careful not to destroy him as Gabumon advised prior to the battle.

Obviously, Wargreymon was holding back. He was far more experienced than BWG at that point. Let's also not forget that HolyAngemon was handing it to BWG. Had BWG not countered by destroying the Destiny Stone, he would've been done right then and there!

Are you crazy? Blackwargreymon 1v2 Wargreymon and Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode at same Time and they draw

Though I agree with most of what you said, you forgot to take into account the black digitron. In their own source books band I says black digitron is what makes black digimon black. Black digitron makes these black versions of already existing digimon have slightly different base stat combinations. Black versions have 1.5 times the base strength and durability of their normal counterparts, but at the cost of only being 3/4 the physical speed

I have the tendency to believe that BlackWargreymon is stronger seeing how it took both Wargreymon and ImperialDramon Fighter Mode to beat at one point

you seem to have forgotten that BlackWargreymon had a 1v2 against Wargreymon and Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. He may have lost but he gave both of them a good thrashing. 🚬

Wargreymon is more superior, he can kick Gaia force while black wargreymon dodge instead kicking it.

The battle always felt too short to me. Imperialdramon just butted in and din't allow both to have a proper duel. I also think that the OG would have won in the end. But man would it have been something to see him get the W after a long and proper fight.

Power level way over 8999! What characters have displayed powers at this level? Batman with like 4 days of prep time?

Would love to see info about the digimon sovereign and a hierarchy/ tier system for Jogress and higher capability mega level digimon. Like how much stronger is azulongmon than blackwargreymon. He seemed to no dif him.
