Portland, Oregon Snow Watch Mid-February?

preview_player
Показать описание
Local weather for Portland Oregon and Pacific Northwest region from local meteorologist Rod Hill. Storm track, Cascade travel conditions and outlooks. Many more cold frosty nights in the 20s expected into next week for the Willamette Valley and Northwest cold in general at night. I spend time looking at multiple weather models mid-February and the chance of seeing low snow levels, including Portland, Salem and Vancouver. Portland's 7day forecast is updated. Also, an east wind outlook near the gorge.

Thanks, Rod. This dry streak is concerning to say the least. We appreciate you keeping us informed.

It has been dry, nothing can be done about it. Rod interprets the models constantly and are always changing. Would I be happier with cloudy/wet weather? Absolutely, I'm actually depressed because this feels like a dry summer. Reality is things are not what they were decades ago. It's a new reality, 72hr forecasts are very reliable and that's about it. Thank you for all that you do for us Sir

Thanks. Another great video. I don't like the ice but I like the slightly higher temps.

The typical January fake out brings the February and March white outs. I need to fly South for the winters, hahaha!

Very cold nights and mornings my ponds are frozen on top around 3 inches thick up in Vancouver Wa. Crunchy frosty ground

While I certainly respect your Meteorological chops, we have seen so many promised cold weather events that have not so far delivered this winter. The conditions look promising until we get a week or two out and so far all have faded away. I really would love this one to be an epic cold blast, but my expectation is that that this potential one will be no different to those past. Should that not turn out to be so, feel free to call me out!!! I love the forecasts you do, keep our hopes alive!!! 👍

I live in the west hills of portland (790ft-1200ft) and see snow every year even if it does not stick.

How much does this area differentiate in terms of weather compared to the metro area? Curious as ive noticed this all the time ive been here

I've heard that we are in a neutral winter. Lots of rain in November and December. Then no rain in January and February would be neutral, right?

If it actually will be 7 inches of snow, that would be INSANE!!!!

@rodhillweather, i have always wondered? Where do you do your radio recordings for KXL because every time I hear you say it sounds so quiet. So just wondering how do you keep it quiet when you record it?

Thanks, Rod. Only 2 inches of rain for the month of January is pretty bad. Also the models have had the same fantasy forecast for like 2 months now, I'll believe it when I see it at this point.

just remember how much moisture we had October-December before becoming ALARMED…. 😮😅😊 also, remember we’re nearing the end of solar Maximus which DOES dictate our weather….

Well, high pressure for the majority of February now too. Can't get rid of the high pressure.

Forgive my inexperience as I am not a meteorologist….but it seems to me you are doing folks a disservice trying to forecast almost a month away…..

I would have better luck using tea leaves…

I’m not working during February so bring it. Of course 2 weeks I’ll be on Maui. Hope it snows heavily when I’m gone. 😂
