Another brief but great video, Blair. I have learned so much by watching your interesting material over the years.

Read the title and was like Oh no! Is Blair getting accused of stuff or something like that?!?! And then the first 5 words I had some relief like ok it's about trees haha

After the hurricane here, many trees in the garden and around the property were cut in half, several were completely blown over.
I cut the soursop trees in half and got them back on their feet, still supported by a thick rope so the roots can resettle and support the trees growing straight up again.
A Ceiba tree had a hug branch ripped off; we removed the huge branch.
Several Chaca trees had their branches blow off and smashed into other trees.
None of the trees have received any concrete, paint, rubber coating, whtsoever because ON THIS CHANNEL I learnt that it only worsens wounds and one had better do the tree its job on its own.
One tree that had its trunk cut in half needed the part leaning on the ground cut with a machette.
All the damaged trees, that have not been blown over, are recovering.
Thank you for your dedication Blair in sharing knowledge 🙂

Beautifully put Blair, I am a self taught arborist, ( I have taken many classes) I got my certification with the ISA back in 2013. Followed by my certified Tree worker, prior Most of my studies have been out of pure curiosity. It’s so nice when an arborist like yourself puts all this into perspective ! of what I had seen over many years. Thanks for somebody informative videos.

Well said!!! I like to say to my clients that a tree doesn't heal but, can seal wounds... Thx for your channel, I've learned alot😊😊

Thanks for all that good information. I live somewhere with not too many other tree guys to pick their brains

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm no aspiring arborist, but own a large lot in the city. Half is currently "rewilding" while I simultaneously fight back invasives (Japanese wisteria, Porcelain Berry, English Ivy).

i have been watching your videos for years now, and my understanding is that you have a property with quite a few trees on it. it would be interesting to see a video (which may take years) where you strategically cut a few different species of tree with a few different kinds of cut and track the "healing" process. To demonstrate how this knowledge applies to different types of tree.

@Blair, get em good 👍. Shigo is an excellent source for newbies to learn. 3 cut method works pplz. Learn it. 😎✌️

I'm not an arborist but a tree guy. I don't mind doing what a customer wants but I try to talk them out of making but unnecessary cuts for the health of the tree. It might cut my pay on the job but that's OK because the tree will be in good shape and your name follows your work. I enjoy these videos. Keep them coming

51 climbing years! Congrats Glenn. Nice video, I know people in their 70's still recommending wound dressing (literally heard this days ago from an old duck!) so - keep spreading the truth & eliminating the false. THANKS friend!

Was hired as a greenhorn Monterey Co. '73 for a long established co we carried on our belts a big canister thing w a brush to paint large cuts w black tar stuff, and spray for small cuts. Came home covered w the stuff. Common practice then, what a mess.

I have been following you for a couple of years now and I am already familiar with your stance about tree wounds. As an engineer believing in scientific methods, I still think we shouldn't give up on finding ways to help a tree with wounds to prolong its life. Anyhow, it is nice to know what previous experience has shown. Thank you very much for making making content!
