Years ago I adopted a pair of Staffie/Pit mixes. Scrappy and Jordan. They were awesome. Scrappy was 4 and Jordan was 11 when they came into my life. Jordan was the epitome of nanny dog. She absolutely loved kids. One time while we were out playing she ran across a broken bottle that was hidden in some leaves. Sliced her two front feet up so bad that she needed surgery. Even bandaged up and in pain she was so sweet. When I brought her in for her post surgery check up, there was a man there with his two small children. Jordan was on her back, tail wagging and squiggling all over the floor to the delight of those kids. They were rolling around with her, rubbing her tummy and she gave them all the kisses. That was just how she was. She passed away a few years later. Scrappy lived until he was 23. Even in his last few days he was so sweet. We took him out for ice cream when we knew he was getting close to the end. Even being deaf and mostly blind, he beelined straight over to a little girl, gave her kisses and laid at her feet. We let her give him his pup cup and I'm pretty sure it was the best day ever for the both of them.
I miss those pups to this day.

I adore my miniature golden. He has been by my side since I was active duty and well off into my years after service. He has helped me get through so much including my surgeries. He has brought nothing but joy into my life and my family’s life. But to watch him grow old before me is heartbreaking. He worries about me and at night always sleeps close and wakes up to watch me see if I’m ok. It will be hard when he passes.😭 he has gotten so old and forgetful and his fur has turned from a golden to a white.

Black labs are awesome, I use to have one years ago, sadly I started having health issues, and financial troubles do to it, and had to give my black lab away, luckily though she got to go to a family with kids, so while I'll always miss her, I'm glad a family with kids gets to experience the joy that I experience with my black lab, I would like to either have one again, or a Golden Retriever.

I had a chocolate lab. He died in 2019 just a few weeks after turning 15. He was a very, very good boy. Sometimes, he got into mischeif, but for the most part, he was one of the best dogs I ever had along with our Yorkshire Terrior. Those 2 guys were our best family dogs ever. I do miss that chocolate lab, though. I really do hope to get another one someday.
