Mercedes E55 AMG vs. BMW 335i Coupe

This is an interesting match up between a 2002 (W210) Mercedes E55 AMG and a BMW E92 335i coupe. Both cars have modifications, but the Mercedes has more serious additions. The BMW is chipped which does a lot for the car. The Mercedes engine sounds amazing. Both cars are automatic.

That BMW has 2 turbos so you can throw the static displacement out the window. When you hit approx.14.7 psi, you have effectively doubled the displacement of an engine. Just FYI.

The e92 335i has roughly the same acceleration and other performance properties as an e46 M3.
Plus, the 335i has 300 BHP (approx) and the E55 from this era has 350 (approx).. The difference in power to weight between the two cars isn't massive. + the 335i does have a wee bit of turbo lag from the off, though the power band is probably higher than the beastly E55... But dat V8 though!

MB W210 E55 -> 354PS (which they NEVER had) plus Mods…
-> What a „fair“ race 🙄😂
Bring a W211 E55 (with the M113K engine) and the E92 335i probably would have lost.
And by the way: Off the line even my BMW F31 330dA xDrive would be quicker than both of them. Up to speeds over 100km/h of course I would be lost 🤣

I'm sorry....what the hell difference does age make if the cars are not stock?? Do you think you can't mod an E55 AMG to go faster than an E92 335i? My dad's '68 Camaro would blow the doors off that BMW and it's at least 40 years older! I mean, c'mon dude...age doesn't dictate speed...

That BMW most have more power. The e55 didn't even close the gap.
