Having played around with the Sony A7III years ago, I sent it back within the first 14 days and got the Canon R6 instead. The feel, the ergonomics and the menus were my biggest points. The R6 is just so much more fun to use. The R6 II is even better and fixed almost all of my pain points of the R6 I. Have fun using this camera!!

You can use third party EF lenses with the EF adapter. I use the EF 70-200 with the adapter on R6 II and it works beautifully

Great video mate! 100% agree! I did the same thing... Changed from Canon to Sony Alpha 7iii and all the prime lenses... worst move I ever made! I'm now back with the fabulous Canon R6 MkII, Canon glass and am so glad I did! 🤘

I went with the R6 Markii from the T8i. Used all my EF lenses with the adapter. Really happy with my decision. I did worry for a second when I heard Canon users were switching to Sony. The hype died down though and after seeing your vid and reading comments, well I know I'm ok 😊

Welcome to the canon ecosystem. I think the A7iv would have solved the issues you had since color science is much improved and the body is a bit bigger. But it’s great to have options! I hope you enjoy the new camera!

I'm waiting until 2025 to decide which mirrorless system to buy in. Now i have Canon and Nikon DSLR. I had Sony in the past and i hated it, i know Sony have improve, but even then i think there are better alternatives, Canon RF, Nikon Z, even Fuji X, but sadly Panasonic isn't in my country.
Fuji have great rendition of images and fully open mount.
Nikon tolerates third party primes lenses, but not fully embrace them.
Canon have some "cheap" good enough primes and you can use the EF zooms. And being real, How many lenses do you need? If you don't need really fancy glass you can live with Canon without problems

As i said I'll wait until 2025. Maybe Canon opens the mount (i dont think so, but still having small hopes), maybe the Nikon Z6III is the best bang for the buck in the universe, maybe Fuji revamp the GFX mount to adapt FX lenses. I don't know. Everything can happen until the market settle

Good vid. I shoot mostly Sony up until a few weeks ago. I have had quite a few lenses including the 100mm 2.8 STF. I currently shoot with the 40mm 2.5 and 50mm 2.5 plus 85mm 1.8. Sold my Sigma 35mm f2 and 45mm f2.8. Anyway, I bought an r50 on a wim to try the Canon. Then bought the 50mm 1.8 and 35mm 1.8. I'm kind of shocked. Even compared to A7III it's a freak camera for the price. My issue has always been color. My process has been to import into Capture one then I usually apply a nikon profile...export and then edit in LR. The canon skin tones definitely do not look green. I have yet to edit color at all. No lizard skin. It's going to hurt but I think it's time to switch. Will pick up the 85mm f2 and then the 70-200mm F4 plus R8. If it wasn't for the Canon refurb deals I would have never tried it. Canon got me...:)

I love my a7cii. The A7iv in a compact body. But I'm looking at Canon. No disatified with Sony, Just curious for Photography. Are you using both Sony and Canon? Great video BTW

A7iii is way older and should be compared with EOS R. A7iv is the direct comparison to R6ii!
A7iv has a much better feel and handling than A7iii. If I compare EOS R to A7iv it would be a bug win to Sony!

I keep hearing about the cheap plastic feel and fitment of the canon(not good). What is your thoughts. Also really don’t like the idea of no 3rd party lenses. Very much considering the Panasonic S5 iix

I am using R5 with some RF and EF lens, recently brought ZV-e10 and love the weight and e-mount 3rd party lens, just considering to sell my Canon camera and lens and move to A7R5. I have used Canon for over 30 years, can you tell me should I stay? Really struggling. I am mainly taking photos and sometimes for videos.

Switching systems is something I’ve recently done as well, but I did the opposite sort of! I moved on from Canon after 20 years. My issue wasn’t colors but feeling handicapped by Canon. To help me make my decision more responsible. I rented the Sony a7iv
followed by surprisingly the Fuji XH2S. Both in my opinion we’re better choices FOR ME, than my R6. Ultimately I choose the Fuji and couldn’t be happier. I won’t try to convince you why I choose Fuji. Again we all spend our money on what works best for our own needs. I loved Canon but the RF system is incredibly expensive. Lens support or 3rd party options aren’t currently available & adapting my old glass for me was only a temporary solution. What made sense was my clients are happy with my results. As a small business owner, I weighed cost versus return on investment! Happy shooting!!

I recommend for you to buy the 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8 very Vera lenses to have imo must have lenses . The one you have really sucks at f4 and above 🤙🏻

I did this exact same thing, actually gave up two A7IV’s after Sony screwed me during a repair and sent back one of my cameras in worse shape. Loving the new R6 Mark II

Canon is a lense camera, its entirely their right to limit third party lense sales. Especially if third party is a third of the price and almost the same quality. Sony is heading this way with features like focus breathing compensation with only their lenses.
