I think the Parieto (80/20) rule of computation lies in automation. Its unfortunate how much programming has become a barrier to exploiting the greatest benefits of computation i.e. handing over repetitive tasks to machines to free consciousness.

I work for an assessment office on my university campus as a graduate research assistant. We have a survey form that we send out to every program and they return it. We then code the department answers, followed by our two consultant's codes. I'm then tasked with consolidating (after resolved dissagreement) all three numbers into one--then turning that, say, "1" into the word "Yes."

With about a hundred programs on campus and about a hundred reports, it gets incredibly repetitive hence my search for this video lol. I've discovered macros in other places but in Word it seems to be quite strange, and I wanted to ask you:

Do these macros work properly within Selections?

Because I made one, and did my routine, and realized that the macro had changed every single number in the entire document despite my having selected only the one column :/

Or is there another step I'm missing?

I have office 365 but it's the new one and its office 2016 sad that I can't do outlook
