At age 7, an enthusiastic Dennis Plintz walked door to door in his neighbourhood and successfully sold his big brother’s entire Star Wars collection – without permission. He’s been in sales ever since.

In 2009, Dennis was named one of the Top 21 real estate agents in the country and has maintained a place among the top 2% of agents ever since. He is committed and involved father of two, a landlord, a start-up investor, a board member and founder of a camp for youth recovering from addiction.

Dennis believes the secret to success isn’t a secret. It’s consistent hard work, the relentless pursuit of “better,” and the drive to give back. That last element is a big one. Growing up, there wasn’t much money to go around and Dennis knows his path could have gone in a completely different direction were it not for the contribution of a few key people along the way. Now, Dennis applies that insight to his business, treating his clients and business partners with immense gratitude.

In home sales, no matter whether the market is up or down, great outcomes depend on two key attributes for Dennis and his team: responsiveness and service. Being unbelievably responsive means every call and every client deserves quick and meaningful engagement.

The internet has ushered in an era of unprecedented transparency. For Dennis and his team, that means we will be known for what we do and how we do it – not what our website says we do. Service has always mattered, but now it matters at a truly disruptive level because everyone has options – and going “somewhere else” has never been easier. For Dennis, service is shovelling the sidewalk for his clients, and providing an annual catered dinner in their home years after the sale. It’s removing a “personal item” from a client’s nightstand before their open house—and flushing the toilet between showings. Once, it even meant negotiating a mouse-hunting cat into the sale of a home.

Dennis brings his problem-solving and especially his energetic positivity to any task or challenge. In his words: “Be excited, be the first to show up, follow through and never give up.”

Dennis is the author of Hustle: A Guide to the Ethical Art of Selling and Survival and most recently, Positively Sold: Buy Smarter, Sell Higher, and Push your Real Estate Agent to Hustle Harder.
