After some time abroad in Scotland Otso Virtanen came back to Finland and Veikkausliiga with style. 23 year old goalkeeper played every single minute of the season on a high and consistent level saving vital points especially at the end of matches, helping KuPS to reach second place in Veikkausliiga.

Player Type?

Virtanen is the definition of a modern goalkeeper. Tall, but still athletic enough to save laterally. Positions well and doesn't make any extra moves. Reads the opposition well. Stays calm and plays on a high level night after night. Doesn't have major flaws, but needs to improve in general to break into bigger leagues which he could well do.

Future?

Virtanen's contract ends after 2018 season, but his performances this year might attract some attention from abroad. After all he is only 23 years old and has some unfilled potential in him.
