Cleaning and restoring a '61 Vintage Bike from Victoria and bringing it into shape for the next decades whilst maintaining all the historical details. Part 1 is dealing with the disassembly and the restoration of first parts, including the paint job of the fork.

I've learned that many bike enthusiast consider it a sacrilege to re-paint a classic bike frame. I understand this, in fact I appreciate a gracefully aged, original vehicle myself. However, even more importantly, I think that vintage vehicles belong on the road. It is my intention to use this bike intensively, likely even on a daily base. That's why I'm trying to bring it up to modern standards in terms of rust protection whilst maintaining the spirit of the design and savor yesterday's craftsmanship.

Unfortunately my brotherinlaws germanness did not extend to spoke polishing of his Mannheim postmans bike... and it shows.
Has to be gratifying when your project turns out like this.
