Wow. Thank you all so much. Two years ago, I never could have imagined how much chess was going to take over my life - and how this story would resonate with so many people. I truly appreciate all the support. Again, thank you!

The title should be "How I dedicated time and effort over two years to achieve a goal that many will never achieve, thanks to critical analysis of my weaknesses". Well done, very inspirational. Not particularly accidental, though!

This is the best "I watched The Queen's Gambit and I wanted to learn chess" story on the entire internet.

As a content creator myself, I'm absolutely mindblown by the amount of effort gone into the editing of this video?!? The narration was so engaging too, not to mention the impressive climb from 0-2000. Beautiful stuff - keep up the great work :D

I have been playing for 8 years now and I’m rated 1400, I play like one game a week because I’m not really into chess anymore but this video has given me the motivation to start actually taking chess seriously. My goal is 2000 as well, I’ll come back here when I get to it. Cheers.

this is actually insane.. she did exactly what she is supposed to do - analyze own games, learn the classics, study endgames (technical and strategic)

So refreshing and inspiring to see a young person set a goal, work hard at it, and accomplish it. Your reaction at reaching 2000 said it all. Congrats. By the way, you had "accidental" in the video's title, but there was nothing accidental in accomplishing what you did.

As a 25yo woman who really got into chess about a year ago, this is truly inspiring. I started at like 600 ELO and am now at 1150. Thank you so much for sharing this!! I wish you lots of joy and learning in the rest of your chess journey :)

You are really talented. it's really not easy to reach 2000 in 2 years even if you work hard. impressive

I exactly passed the same journey except I haven't reach 2000 yet. Firstly, long process until 1500-1600, then my elo skyrocketed too from 1650 to 1900. Next I reached 1933, my actual peak and I'm currently fell down to 1820... So your video give me hope ! Congrats !

Thoroughly impressed with how you conducted your work. Extremely disciplined, especially when you went through a rough patch where you were losing rating. Being a grandmaster, I know how hard it can be to go through those periods where things are just not working out. Hope to see you continue on this path! I've already used this video in my teachings and I hope to see more chess related content from you in the future. Best of luck! :).

Finally, a video documenting not only the successes, but the process of specifically how you achieved your goal, which includes the setbacks. This was really well made & you’ve earned yourself a sub 😊

This is the most inspirational chess video I've ever seen. How you detailed your journey inspires others to plan and persevere in any field of choice.

Congratulations, and thank you.

Nearly cried a little when you got your 2001 like that. …well done

I’m trying to get 1600 at the moment . And I realise I need to study games now rather than just …figure it out as I go

The chess notebook reveals the kind of study required that 99% of people who want to be 2000 will never do. You've gotta dedicate yourself. Subbed. I'm proud of you. :)

Thanks for making this video. Really inspiring to watch. I’m currently at 960 on rapid, hoping to also get 2000 one day. Love that you mentioned how lonely it can get when you’re studying to improve. I often feel like that, but seeing how happy you were at the end tells me all that work is worth it in the end. Cheers!

Only watched the first 30 seconds and am hooked. Your background in film shows, this is professional level work.

No accidents! You worked hard and achieved what you deserved!! I would recommend this video to all adult improvers. This is exactly what you need to do to improve in chess. I also love the editing, I was hooked from start to finish. It's rare in modern society to watch a full 20-minute video. Well done!

Your story has motivated me to resume my chess studies and aim to achieve a 2000 elo rating, just like you did. I have been stuck at 1500 for a long time, but your story has given me the motivation to keep going. If I ever start to make progress, I will share more details with you. Thank you for your great video and testimony.
Best regards.
