I think React 17 is the first step to make React stand in the next years by allowing us to easy upgrades from React 17 to next releases 18+
Which is good for big projects.

not having to write import React from 'react' sounds good, but in my eyes it was like a statement at the top of the file - "this is a React component"

Simply... no new feature, because It's the most mature JS framework we've. Lots of people using React... and It's pretty solid right now. Can't see any changes after Suspension coming...

i wanna call a function when component will unmount, but i dont wanna call that function in component mounting and updating cycle, can i do this in functional component.
i am biggner so i was just curious
