I'm probably way outside your demographic (41 yr old British woman who's not super outdoorsy and has never tackled a major DIY project) but I have to say, I find videos like this fascinating. It's amazing what a bit of good old human ingenuity and elbow grease can accomplish!

Dave your voice over is the best. I can listen to you all day. Another great build, and a massive boost for your homestead.

Most guys would start by beefing up a trailer. Not Dave. He starts out radical and has to 'beef down' his trailer!
Awesome stuff, looking forward to seeing it in action on another video!

Recycling, this is what it's all about. I would imagine the 70's former boat trailer even in it's purchased state was better made than anything today. Very cool!

Old woman who loves to learn things, even though I'd never use a saw mill, or do half the things you and Brooke do. You are so smart and clever and a joy to listen to! America needs more Dave Whipples!!!

Nice job. Folks probably don't realize all the edit time you had to put in for this, so here's to you for creating a smooth, easy watch.

This is going to be valuable to your family. I wouldn’t have had the vision to look at an old boat trailer and see a sawmill. Kudos.

If you had asked me twenty one-ish minutes ago, "What do you think the odds are of you not only watching but truly enjoying it while you do a video about a guy who is refurbishing a boat trailer into a sawmill trailer?"... I'd have laughed and said, "Not very good.". But... he we are twenty minutes-ish later and I not only watched that video but I truly enjoyed it while I did. Will I ever do anything even remotely like it? At this moment I'm going to say "chances are not very good" but... start back at the beginning of my comment to see how much weight that actually holds. Thanks again for another truly entertaining and informative video Dave. You always make my day brighter whenever I see you have a new one out.

The weather “note” of the tornados tells me exactly when you were filming…just a week and a half before my wife and I came through your neck of the woods en route to the Soo on vacation. Glad you all were north of that mess….as for repurposing that old tandem-axle boat trailer as a sawmill trailer, that’s a stroke of frugal genius that would make Red Green burst with pride! Far more solid than just about anything that could be bought ready-made, and for mere pennies by comparison…..

Can't stop watching this channel, it's sort of simple but sophisticated at the same time but most importantly down to earth In a sense. Love seeing your work Dave

I remember those trailers VERY well growing up! I doubt you could have done this project with what's made today! Great video, and of course, a great idea. I'll be very interested in seeing the review of the 2 different mills. I've got about 10 acres of trees I want to mill on my farm to build a couple homes and a new barn. REAL 2x6's are so much better than stuff we see in the Home Depot, and pay thru the nose for!

Your hat from Magnetwan, Ontario! Been there many times. Love this build and cant wait to see you cut and review the saw mill. As a forester I sure miss the bush and the work. Hello from Ontario, Canada.

Hey Dave I'm a professional fabricator welder I've been in the business for 15 years and I learned the most amazing tip of your video. I freaking love the way you used the magnet to hold your drill bits on the side of the trailer 🤯 absolute genius move. A little tip I can give you in return is trying to tighten up your arch length a tad aim for 1/4" to 3/8" max stick out also just be mindful of the old saying if it's got slag you need to drag i.e always weld with your torch pulling the weld along never pushing in front of you this should help you get a flatter more uniform profile👍

If some one told me yesterday, that tomorrow I would learn how to turn a boat trailer into a sawmill trailer - I never would have believed it! Your ingenuity never ceases to amaze. Thanks Bushy! ❤😁

I knew you had something cooking when you bought that welder and did the review. Awesome as always! Keep it up Dave. You are truly an inspiration to me and I’m sure so many others!

It’s nice to have the Michigan representation. There’s plenty of opportunities outdoors here for projects like this for someone willing to take the time. Thank you for your videos and passing on what you know and learned.
