I absolutely love listening to the thought provoking conversations between these two highly intelligent Libertarians. Their views are all steeped In the traditional values that once made America an exceptionally great country. Values like liberty, self reliance, individual responsibility, and moral rectitude. Thank you to both of you. I cannot understand why you do not have 100s of thousands of subscribers.

Example: Ron Paul. The guy has stood by his principles for his entire career, he speaks truth, personal responsibility and liberty in a time of fake news, gimme-free-stuff, and authoritarianism.

Excellent topic, in my opinion - I totally agree with Matt and Doug - love how Doug just says it like it is.

I have noticed over the last 15 years of raising my children, the moral courage has been removed from television, cartoons, etc. So modeling has changed unless you seek it out or use older shows to explain. What has replaced that is fufu shows, social elitism as heros, profanity and sex as shock value. Many video games use task oriented violence as a means of winning and not necessarily critical thinking...

To discuss "moral courage" one must first define moral and then we can define courage and decide where it is. So much more that I wish I could talk with you and Doug about personally. You two are the kind of deep thinkers that I have always longed to spend time with and your videos are always thought provoking. I agree with you guys on so many of your opinions though not all of them and bravo to you two for having the courage to open up and let us see who you really are... Be blessed...

How's the cycle go?

Strong men create good times.
Good times create weak men.
Weak men create hard times.
Hard times create strong men.

I believe we are about to enter stage 4, so we will all soon see who has moral courage.

What a fantastic topic, thank you SO much for it! One of my favourite humans was Marshall Rosenberg. He believed that language could be used to enslave or liberate us, and he lived his life as an ACTUAL agent of change. One of his (many) acts of moral courage was when he turned down a large grant from the Rockefeller Foundation because he was fully aware of the consequences of receiving that grant. At the time, he had very little money and could easily have sold himself out - but he stood firm on principle.

It seems that you are correct and we indeed have far less morale courage coursing through the veins of western society these days. I believe, that it is at least in part, a direct result of the lack of a moral compass. The masses have almost no concept of absolute truth, nor the seeking thereof. Instead, they are ruled by relativism, and therefore they have a directionless moral compass, and as a result no basis for said moral courage.

Good day gentlemen, thank you for another great discussion.

PS. The Corsair Cowboy told me to send his regards.

Moral courage for me is retaining self respect instead of gaining the respect of the herd, the almighty virtue signal 😃

Do I fear Corona? No, I fear government tyranny. Yet I stand up to these wicked men and fight for my, yours, & everyone's liberty each day. This struggle may seem futile & never-ending but the alternative would be far worse.

As a small-time long life cannabis grower I can tell it's hard to have the gov as your enemy. I have been in prison for 23 days, got my left ear tympanum, and my nose broken (the first by a punch of a police officer, the second by punch of an African inmate, for no reason apparently), 200 hours of forced labor and the loss of almost all material possessions. Then I was caught another two times, but at the end they gave up, the captain of the police squadron admitted in front of 15 officers that I was right, that it was the truth that cannabis is for the greatest part innocuous, and even medicinal and anti-depressive. They even agreed that lobbies of the alcohol, tobacco, paper, plastic, fuel and pharmaceutical industries were major enemies of the cannabis trade.
Now Medicinal Cannabis is grown by dozens of companies in Portugal. One of my good friends just got employed by a licensed Uruguayan company, and he, as the manager of the greenhouses, promised me to get me in.
Sniff... I almost made it... I have certainly moral courage IMHO.
Thank you for such great insights!
Have a happy, safe 2021!

My examples: our local brew house stayed open and held outdoor concerts two days a week, all summer through Halloween.. While the city 35 miles away was in full lock down. Our local city council, with some persuasion, voted down the idea of mandating masks. I asked Costco to return my membership fees when they tried to require me to wear a mask; they then said that they were not required. Palmer Alaska has been a bit of an oasis this year, thank God!
