Today we built & installed my FULL REDARC electrical system at Sandy Vans! I am breaking down the system and how it all comes together!

For a step by step walkthrough of this install by Sandy Van’s professional check out:

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a certified electrician. This is not a HOW TO instead a “This Is How I Did It” Video. Be weary of all internet van build advice you get. The reason I had Sandy Vans install this system is because I STRONGLY believe there are some parts of van builds that are better left to professionals for safety reasons. This is ABSOLUTLEY one of those areas. I sat down with Sandy Vans and REDARC for planning my electrical installation and in my last van I had Jesse Graver of Graver Electric LLC (on the east coast) check over my entire install when I was done to make sure my connections I made were safe. I HIGHLY reccomend getting help from a professional, I know it’s expensive but SO IS your van catching on fire….. just saying 👀

That jump starter sounds like a dream. Social interact with strangers when embarrassed, I concur.

Looking good so far. Thank you for going into the extra details in your videos. Your channel is one of the most informative channels on here.

The compactness is a definite plus for your situation. I would have bumped up the inverter to a 3Kwatt with a 5K surge but if the inverter is of high quality you should be fine. I have found keeping within 80% of spec on any type of system is a good rule of thumb for longevity. The nice thing is you can easily expand your battery capacity as you see fit once your on the road again. I have found 800Ahrs is the sweet spot with your type of setup.

I got a lot of useful ideas for building my van by watching yours. In November I'm leaving to go to the NRVTA In Athens, TX so I can build my own. See you out there on the road.

it says a lot for someone to let you record them working. when i was a mechanic just someone staring out of the lobby window at me made me drop my tools every 5 mins!

This is so cool. I have a similar configuration as that, but I ended up fitting a heating and cooling system.

You Really should upgrade the Alternator. 200A or 300A alternators are availble. Having a heavy duty bat to bat system will push the factory Alternator over the edge eventually. Especially in winter.

Great job! Wish you could double the battery capacity before winter.

The promaster has four open cavities along the wall from front to back making it ideal for wiring runs.
I'm super curious as to why they chose to run the main power line off the battery under the van making it necessary to drill a great big hole in the floor to bring it back inside.

Wow! Ive never heard of redarc. Also, I need to check but I think this has more power, features, and is smaller than my $5.5k jackery 😅

Is van life for an amputee a good idea for a channel? That tours the country as a motivation speaker. I just started really trying this platform 7 weeks ago. Ive grown from 75 subs to 415. Is this good for that time period of trying?

I'm starting to work on the electrical for my box truck conversation and something that I haven't been able to locate randomly drains the battery on my truck, what is the device called that recharges the battery, that can be a literal LIFESAVER for me and my conversation
