The "hybrid" tree is easily explainable... An animal or bird or the wind left a seed between branches of the tree and managed to allow the others growth with soil, rain, and sunshine while receiving nutrients from the tree below it. Even in it's decaying condition, the top tree is still benefiting from this decay.

3:07 - I just figured out the reason this explorer was never seen again!! He went home. >.> He died in 1999, in Cambridge, at the age of 91. I REALLY wish these channels would do their homework before posting. I don't even know if all the other stuff mention is real now. I mean, I take everything on the interwebs with a GIANT grain of salt but still... Honestly, who knows if he even explored it because his wiki page doesn't mention it, but he WAS in Kenya around that time, (it says he was in Kenya in 1934) so its possible, I guess.

Speaking as a person who comes from a long family line of farmers in the Kalahari and are very much in touch with the remaining bushmen there, I can tell you that the closest thing to an ancient city you would find there is a some few hundred-year old cave paintings. No advanced civilisation here but amazing natural phenomena eg the dolomite stones and lightning hitting the sand and melting it to the shape of the bolt... but props to the magician for increasing tourism... I am sure the locals would've had a field day with these okes.

The tree one it was said that it probably was a bird.. Eating some cherries picked from a cherry tree and it rested on this one... Dropped the seeds and it grew... Obviously the roots would runs through the branches
