Setting up for Home Learning | Tips for Teachers

In this video I will show you how to set up a virtual classroom for online learning. I know that many primary school teachers are having to teach remotely at the moment. I have provided examples of how I have been teaching online, as well as websites and apps that I would recommend you using with your students. Virtual lessons are difficult to create and it is hard to find a routine, but it can be achieved if you plan for online learning by creating simple, easy to follow lessons for your students. My virtual classroom is now thriving - although it has taken a long time to get set up! I hope to be able to help you to create an effective virtual classroom for online learning.

Great tips! I wanted to do weekly assignments but I also like daily since it gives them motivation to check in Google Classroom everyday. I like your idea of a morning message or a riddle. Google Slides has been great in organizing information and making it more visually appealing. Yes, make more videos on GC and GS. 😄👍🏾

Thank you, Katie your videos are wonderful. I would love to learn how you set up your YouTube video, Padlet, and activities you assign the students to get away from the screen. Thank you Katie! I can relate to not being used to a routine but I’m improving as a student it’s been 5 weeks here I think! My teachers do the same thing by doing google slides where we see the lessons and we do assignments in google classroom. I wake up at 8 in the morning and by 9 I review the lessons and then I do my work! Then by like 12:30-1:00 we would do zoom meetings on certain! By like 1:30 I would typically be finished for the day👏🏻. Honestly I’ve had times I would get on my cellphone and get distracted. Do you have any tips for how I can manage my cellphone use when doing my online classes if I may ask? I’m trying to get better at that now! I hope your have a wonderful day!

Why would you use padlet over seesaw? I see in your demo that padlet has similar features that you featured in your seesaw video. Just wondering why you are using both.

Is esf/aishk/cais good comparing with UK school? any suggested IS list (for parents) among HK IS teacher (exclude your current teaching one of course)

Is local school too bad? you can interview with student transfered from Local school IS

what is the major problem/differencr for HK IS student

UK vs HK IS school fee

if student Disciplines in school good. UK vs HK

etc.

I think the name “for teacher" might limit your type of audience. Trust HK and chinese parents need your analysis.
