1965 Tulsa Ok, late May, the temperature was crowding 100. I went downtown to pick up my dad at rush hour. My 55 Chevy overheated in the traffic jam. Behind me was this old codger in a Buick 225 honking his horn while we were trying to get the car pushed to the side, but we were bumper to bumper. The Clown kept blasting his horn. the 17 year old in me had enough. I went back to him and beat on this window. He rolled it down about an inch and asked what? I said Mister if you would go get my car started I will stay back here in your AC car, and honk your @##$$#@!#@ horn.

I thought of this when you mentioned your neighbor was upset that you had car trouble...what assholes!

The fuel gauge in my Willis hasn't worked for almost 30 yrs! Have only run out of gas 3 times (once every decade). I keep a small gas can in the trunk just in case. Plus I know how far that 8 gallon factory gas tank will take me--oh yah the odometer doesn't work either! 😆

You need to get a Carter electric fuel pump. You will never have a problem with needing to prime it again.

Just looking on kijiji. In Calgary a guy is selling a rover 215 aluminum v8 with a 5 speed. Originally built by GM in early 60s for buick, oldsmobile pontiac. Would make the Opel a rocketship.
