I’ve been growing my hair out since June of 2021 and my hair is literally in the free form stage where it almost looks like old little tree branches. I’ve barely sponged my hair even when I had the sponge 😂. Literally all you do is just occasionally wash it and like he said let it dry on its own and they will ‘freely form’ 😂 nah but that’s literally it

What I did was get waves and maintain them until my hair was at a 2 or 3 then used the hair sponge. It gave me curls when nothing else was working. Now I were a wave cap every night to define the curls and use the sponge. I'm not washing my hair until it locs.

when you say loc up on its own, do you have to let it dry naturally after u wash ur hair OR do u dry ur hair with a towel or dryer like a lot of ppl?

I started my free forms back in 08 and went to traditional locks then to flats, then i went bald in the middle and cut them off. R.I.P to my hair 08-2020 😢.

How is my hair supposed to lock if when I get a retwist the lady combs my hair out? Also do my locs get thicker over time? ( I have starter locks)

I’m confused because I use the sponge but everytime my hair gets wet my hair poof out and doesn’t maintain the curls to be locked so what do I do?
