Maybe Trump picking Vance had something to do with Vance's statements that he would have not done what Pence did on January 6th. Also I don't think that Trump ever thinks in terms of adding something to his chances of winning by his VP pick. Trump is far to egotistical for that type of thinking. With Trump, it is all about Trump, no one else.
