Muhammad Yunus was sentenced to jail. But now, he is going to lead Bangladesh’s interim government. It was one of the demands of the protesting students’ union. Known as the “banker to the poor”, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus will lead the interim government in Bangladesh. The 84-year-old won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his work in microfinance to alleviate poverty but has been at a crossroads with Sheikh Hasina who accused him of “sucking blood from the poor”. It is disturbing to see all the headlines contains, Nobel Laurette, as if it has anything to do with running a country. Like giving Einstein the job to run a country. Nobel Laurette does not mean much in this setting. He may be a great intellectual, and decent human being, but running a country is complex matter. I hope he has all the tools and no how's to mitigate the current unrest and help forwarding the agenda to make a country prosper.
