Thanks dude. I've been trying to get my snare to sound like the snare on Two Princes.... any suggestions or insights with that one??

While the SM57 can be a great mic on snare drum (or many other things as well) I wouldn't at all describe it as "having a pretty neutral sound".

The SM57 has a substantial proximity boost, a quite strong 5k-6k presence range, and rolls off a bunch beyond 10k.

Understanding these attributes of a 57 will certainly help you in deciding whether or not to chose a 57 for a particular source or can give you insight on how to eq that sound when you do use an SM57.
