I’m active army side thinking about switching guard for more college

What is the biggest difference between active retirement and national guard retirement. I’m national guard 88m and trying to decide do I want to step in active or stay here and see what I can retire with on my civilian side. So should I stay or switch?

Thanks for the info. How long do you have to be reserve or guard before qualifying for a VA loan? If I go straight to AIT as a reserve after BMT can I live off base (home( with my husband and kids?

Not sure. I currently hold a masters degree b it am going back to school for nursing. I’ve been accepted into 2 nursing programs. I’m not married, I don’t have any kids. Not sure if I should do active, reserves, or army national guard… will active allow me to finish my nursing program and will they pay for it? What would you suggest for me?
