Craig Mackinlay jokingly says he broke House of Commons rules, including encouraging clapping, as he was welcomed back to the chamber with a standing ovation, following an eight month absence after having hands and feet amputated, due to Sepsis.

The Tory MP thanked the speaker of the house and prime minister for thier support throughout his health journey.

Mackinlay went on to ask, “Can we please ensure that we embed recognition of early signs of sepsis? If we can stop someone to end up like this that would be a job well done.”

It's great how quickly he accepted his fate and looked into it with humour. However...He's a wealthy man, he could immediately afford new arms and legs, many of us can not.
His last question is the MOST important.

A bit ironic that he’s a Tory and that Conservative policies have ravaged the NHS for 14 years. As a former NHS clinician we need more than thanks and applause if we are to retain great staff and encourage new staff

Our Hero's who have returned from both active and covert duty in both overseas and UK countries need more respect and this man deserves all of that for quite literally standing up to Sepsis

It's a shame that it takes something to happen to a member of parliament before they even consider changing anything for the better it's pathetic

The bad news is that his district was abolished for the recent General Election, so he is no longer a member of the House of Commons. The good news is that he was granted a life peerage, and will therefore sit in the House of Lords. For those who might be wondering, members of the House of Lords do not receive a salary.

An Independent video that I can like?
I hope that one day, those at the Independent realise the name of the outlet, and take all politicians to task, not just those that they do not not agree with.
