So many rescue stories are relatively simple and we don't post those, but it's important for me that you understand as a Hope For Paws supporter that so much medical stuff is happening in the background.

The cost of veterinary care has gone up significantly, and I really need the support of as many people as possible so we can continue our work. The equation is very simple - the more funds we have, the more lives we can save ❤️

Chiquita was very lucky that Katie McKittrick received that call on the #HopeForPaws line and I am so happy that the CARES team was able to fix her up and send her to her loving forever home healthy and happy.

Rescuing a cat is the most rewarding thing I can think of. To see them blossom from being scared, in pain, cold, hungry into healthy, happy cats is truly wonderful. At the beginning of this week we finally managed to catch a stray unneutered Tom. We'd been trying to gain his trust and catch him for 2 years. He turned up for food and I noticed he was holding his paw up and not putting weight on it. We managed to entice him into the kitchen and quickly closed the door. He's not long back from the vet after being neutered, microchipped and his paw seen to - not a break (we had it x-rayed) but they did find a puncture wound. His days of being a stray are over. We've adopted him and he is now an indoor cat. The vet said he was a really good boy and, for being a stray for long time is very friendly. They think he is no more than 3 years old. He's a beautiful black cat and with a few weeks of good food will be even more handsome.

She is so precious and seeing her when she was first rescued was heartbreaking -- what that poor kitty went through before she lucked into you guys! But Misty eyes turned into a smile with the video of her in her new home. Hopefully her ticker is doing well too.

So glad she was spotted and rescued! I have a soft spot for cats, dogs aren't my cup of tea but of course, they deserve rescuing too! I feel so bad for all the stray & feral cats in the brutal heat waves so many of us are experiencing right now. My states capitol city, Sacramento, about 35 miles away is looking at temps of 110-112 this labor day weekend. 107-108 up here in the foothills. So many feral cats living along the river there and everywhere else. Miserable and dangerous for man and beast alike!
