Terraria 1.3.0.7: Expert Moon Lord kill (Melee)

Показать описание
The Moon Lord is the final boss of the game, and his drops are the most powerful weapons available. Plantera is still harder, tho.

BATTLE EXPLANATION
--------------------------------------
THE BATTLEGROUND:
- The entire sky and space will be your battleground. Polish your UFO and get ready to fly everywhere like crazy. Be careful, don't crash into a floating island.
- Feel free to place Campfires and Heart Lanterns across the sky, but chances are you'll fly away from them during the heat of the battle.
GENERAL STRATEGY:
- Moon Lord has several attacks, and all of them pack a punch. The Phantasmal ray is the worst of them all. Avoid it like the plague.
- In his first phase, you have to attack his eyes while they're open. These eyes have three attack patterns.
- One of the attacks is a small spread of fast proyectiles. Moving up and down with the UFO will make them miss.
- Another of the patterns is a volley of smaller, homing eyes. This eyes are nimble and can swarm you easily. If you come close to them, fly perpendicular to their trajectory so they can't turn around.
- The third attack is the Phantasmal Eyes. Each eye will leave a trail of 4 or 5 of these, and they'll throw themselves at you after lingering for a moment. Try to fit between the gaps or fly above/below them.
- The homing and phantasmal eyes have trouble targeting players above them. Keep this in mind if you're in a pinch, but don't stay near the upper limit of the map because that will affect your mobility.
- The forehead eye opens only to shoot the Phantasmal Ray, a giant rotating laser beam that wipes the screen towards you. Avoid touching this at all costs, because it'll nuke your health. Be always aware of the forehead, and when you see the eye open, stay near one of its sides and fly around Moon Lord's head when the laser starts moving.
- The mouth tentacle inflicts the Moon Bite debuff, wich nulls life stealing items. Don't bother with Vampire Knives or the Spectre Armor with hood.
- After an eye's health is depleted, it'll come out of its cavity. It uses roughly the same attacks, but also gains its own Phantasmal Ray, albeit it's less powerful and has less range than the forehead one.
- Due to this, the best course of action is to leave the three eyes with low HP and then destroy them all at once
- When all three eyes are out, the Core will open. It doesn't attack, and the eyes continue with the same patterns as before. Destroying the Core will kill Moon Lord.
- It's near impossible to track the three eyes at the same time, so instead fly away from the boss to outrun their projectiles.
EQUIPMENT AND SPECIFIC STRATEGY:
- As a Warrior, you deal decent damage, and your armor allows you to endure most of Moon Lord's impacts. For this battle I recommend a mix of tanking and DPS accesories.
- The Master Ninja Gear gives a change to avoid completely one hit. When it triggers, it grants mercy invulnerability, wich is further boosted by the Star Veil. Taking into account the amount of projectiles that Moon Lord shoots, this two items alone will increase your survability in a noticeable way.
- The Worm Scarf directly takes away 17% of the incoming damage. This accesory is a must.
- The Paladin's Shield main function is to provide knockback immunity. If you don't have it, any other anti-knockback item can replace it. The reason you don't want to get knockbacked is because that resets your speed, and can leave you vulnerable.
- The two remaining accessories provide damage, critical strike chance, armor and life regeneration, among other bonuses. It would be silly to not equip them.
- Reforge everything to menacing to end the battle faster.
- The Daybreak and Solar Eruption are all the weapons you need. I use the SE for the eyes and Daybreak for the core, but if you can aim well the Daybreak can win you the battle alone.
- The other weapons seen in the hotbar are viable, but the fight will last much longer.
- Moon Lord is immune to Ichor, so don't waste Flasks.
- Buff potions are extremely important. Remember to rebuff yourself if the battle goes on for too long.
