‘The light shiny thing to the left’ now that I’ll remember. Good job of describing the battery change. Thanks

I have not used my AT Gold since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, so I cannot remember how and where to open the battery compartment. I forgot to remove the batteries when I stored it and 2 days ago, I remember to check the condition of the batteries, whether or not they are corroded. Luckily after almost 5 years, the batteries did not leak or corroded. The batteries had very little juice left and the detector did power on. Thanks for this video.

Thank you for making this video. I will subscribe. And I would like to add this. Duracell baterries are bad about leaking acid. They may have more power, but they will leak.

I can remember them being a git to get in, the twist part on the stem gets in the way of twisting the door part open....

Don't make the mistake I made. I left the batties installed for several months. When I went to use the machine, the batteries were dead. I opend the compartment to find liquid. At first, I wondered how liquid got past the seal but then realized it was battery acid that usually vaporates in the average appliance but was collected due to no way to escape. This acid ate both terminals from my battery cartridge. I had to buy a new one. This has taken several months. I'm now in the process of reinstallation and couldn't remember cartridge orientation, which is why I'm here. I took a picture with my cell phone, of the compartment, which offered little information. It's a bad picture but it looks like there's more than 2 terminals at the bottom. Wierd. It's almost like they designed ito to work with many different configurations. I just replaced the batteries and the unit works!
