I met the lead singer "Poogie" about ten years ago near Pittsburgh. He sounded amazing and I met him after the concert and he couldn't have been nicer. I told him how we schooled the young Bucks at the bar by playing his songs and he told me that I was his brother from another mother. I will never forget that RIP friend

Classic and timeless. Who’s still listening to this in June, 2024?

My 1st child was conceived when this song was playing in 1969. We are still married 51 years later and we still listen to this song.

In the Delfonics' Unsung episode, the writer said that his infant son couldn't say ' I love you' but would say 'la la la' instead & that's where he got the inspiration for the title. It's so sweet when you find out stories behind the music. ❤

I was ten in '68 when this came out. I remember two girls walking in the schoolyard singing this song during our recess. 53 years later and I still remember that brief moment. Love it!

I can not believe 52 years have gone by since I first heard this song in 1968 when I was a 14 year old teenage boy. And now that I am 66 year old senior citizen.  The song sounds as fresh to me now, as it did when I was 14. The Delfonics are one of the reasons why I consider the music of the 60's as the greatest decade in Soul and Rhythm & Blues music. Priceless!

I was 12 years old when this song came out. I fell in love with a cute girl who was a year younger than me. This song was the one we danced to when we married 11 years later. My favorite song ever.

200 years from now, this song is gonna be in the background at a resort on Mars and people are gonna be stopping dead in their tracks and loving it.

This was one of the Most Beautiful Songs I ever heard during my youth. Growing up during that ERA I can truly say without a shadow of a doubt that this generation cannot touch the 20th Century Masters.
