The GDP of the whole of Africa is 2.8 trillion with 1.4 billion people. For perspective, the state of Texas has a 2.6 trillion GDP with 30 million people. Japan has almost no resources and a 4.2 trillion gdp. I don’t think Africa will be a superpower anytime soon.
