Thanks for the tutorial, got it to work after some tinkering. The main problem I ran into was that the audio program I use for my music had a separate output menu which it just preferred over windows, so when I changed it there it worked like a charm. VLC > Tools > Preferences > Audio > Output > Device: Voicemeeter AUX Input

Wow, so easy I thought its gonna be complicated!
Basically AUX is the one for the stream and the non AUX is yours!

Also OBS anticipated that! thumbs up for them
anyway, don't really need the voicemeter, if you going to play on Desktop Audio, OBS going the job. but having multiple sound line kinda required for sound separation

Thank you for this helpful tutorial! I’m running into a problem, though. when I follow these steps exactly, and have my stream labs OBS going with Spotify, the Spotify plays through my monitor speakers instead of my headphones which is a Corsair void USB device. Everything else works as explained in the video. Any solutions to this? Thank you!

Followed the steps here and everything went pretty smooth thanks for the video. Ran into 1 problem, when setting the music app to the AUX option in sound settings > advanced settings drop down (in this case Spotify) I can hear the music for it just fine but when setting that audio input in obs it does not capture the audio for Spotify at all, any ideas?

Why not just say, uncheck "6" to exclude a source from your VOD? The rest is nice to know, but the key is "1" is stream and "6" is VOD.

I don't think this works when using re-stream. Probably because streaming to two different platforms at once doesn't give you audio track selections separate from simultaneous platforms like if you were to only use twitch
