wow that bit abt a divided family spoke to me so much. I went through a point when I was a teenager where I was so afraid to openly read the Bible in my house that I would hide it away whenever I heard someone coming into my room because I knew that there would be a confrontation about it. now i have learned to not be ashamed of pursuing the word of God, and I try to help my family see what Jesus accomplished on the cross, even though their hearts are still hardened against him.

Legalism is a web of destruction that is very difficult to escape and if one escapes, it takes a very long time to re-learn what the Bible actually teaches. I went to a legalistic church and the confusion it produced was heavy and dark. I took some time two years ago to read the New Testament without commentary or pastoral interpretation. I asked the Lord to provide the understanding. He did this and after that I found Calvary Chapel Ontario. The teaching here reflects what the Lord showed me and I am very thankful for this. I am also thankful that we can go directly to the Lord for wisdom and understanding. He does not fail to provide these when we ask with a sincere heart.
