I've worked as a VA for 9 years so far and I literally gasped at how the vet grabbed him in a spot they hate being touched. The agression from the cat typically goes to the one person they can nail. It's called misguided aggression. They just get so mad they lash out at who they see first. The vets I work with are never grabbing at cats like that for an abdominal palpation.

When dealing with cats realize that they are a lot like humans in that they trust who they trust and everyone else is like a stranger off the street. The cat doesn't understand this is a doctor's office. So it's like if two strangers jumped you on the street, pulled your pants down, and started examining your asshole. Wouldn't you do the same thing and fight back?

As someone who works in a vet hospital that vet is being surprisingly rough with his patient and everyone involved is completely ignoring the warning signs the cat is giving off. This cat was actually being very polite and gave plenty of warnings before going on the attack. I've had feline patients wanting to rip my face off from the start due to how stressfull a vet visit can be.

I've been a veterinary technician for almost 13 years and that doctor was being WAY too rough! You do not pat a cat like that on its stomach/back when its scared . Poor technician- not her fault at all she just was closest.

She had 0 control. If she held the scruff correctly, the cat wouldn’t have been able to bite her. Yes, the vet should’ve been more gentle especially with how he was acting prior to the hiss. But this video is definitely a learning lesson on what not to do.
