On February 18, 2006, an Australian built Mack truck with 112 semi-trailers, 1,300 t (1,279 long tons; 1,433 short tons) and 1,474.3 metres (4,836 ft 11 in) long, pulled the load 100 metres (328 feet) to recapture the record for the longest road train (multiple loaded trailers) ever pulled with a single prime mover. It was on the main road of Clifton, Queensland, that 70-year-old John Atkinson claimed a new record, pulled by a tri-drive Mack Titan.[20][21][22]

I built the steering and differentials for that truck all by myself, had huge issues as the threads weren't cut into the diff housing properly that secured the massive torque plate to the housing. Binded a huge bolt and had to cut it and drill the stud out then finish off all the threads. Bastard of a job as there was no room for error on that build. Worked for Arvin Meritor back then.

There are many shorter cargo trains here in Europe and they are on rails, not roads. Impressive WR!

Later on, he backed the whole thing up to the starting line with one hand, while drinking a frostie.

Holden is owned by General Motors, which is an American company. So Holden vehicles are built in Australia, with American technology.

well, Kenworth had a twin steer, tri-drive K104 try it one year, and although it did it, it destroyed the two rear-most diffs and crawled across the line on the remaining one.

Yeah, there's a few of us that admire and not sit there and pound our chest. I do agree that it is one hell of a skill to drive those road trains.
