I’ve had the pleasure to own the Ls430, Ls460 and now the Ls500 Fsport. They are all three different cars. In each iteration departing from it’s original soft, lazy and luxurious inception. You have to understand Lexus had to depart from its original recipe because of the massive amount of complaints. Every car journalist and their mother bashed Lexus for being too soft and boring. Now they went to the sportier and more stylish route they are once again being bashed. People sleeping on the Ls, Lc, RcF, GsF and even the IS500. Once they go out of production and all this electrified nonsense come into play. Everyone will call these cars timeless master pieces. Keep up the good work Kevin. I love your content brother, Cheers.

The LS never spoke to me personally, but I think the modern models have way more presence on the road today than before. When you see one, you know it's the epitome of luxury.

I have a 2021 LS500. I love this car. Yes it is a boat, but I’m an old guy and love a floating ride. My 2023 LC500 Convertible should be here any day🎉

I own a 2021 LS500. I came from owning 4 GS's prior. Always looked at the LS being too big and the GS size just right for me. After they stopped making the GS I was kinda forced to get the LS cause I always keep a SUV and a sedan. I blacked it out and it looks more like a sport sedan. I never like a lot of chrome. It handles really well for a big body and you get used to it pretty fast. I love this car and will keep it for a while.

Excellent review, Kevin. I'm still driving the 18 LS, I just have not been able to let it go. In a strange way, the shortcomings of the car kind of appeal to me. The later versions do ride and shift better, but I love the original headlights, tail lights, and interior without the touch screen. I know Apple play and the like are important to most, but to me, they are not. The rear headroom and limo remarks you made are correct, but the lower roof line just makes the car striking to me from the outside. This car has a soul, and I like it more than when I bought it. The V8 would be creamier, but it's the non creamy yet old school feel that I enjoy, very much. Hard to really describe, but they are kinda quiet baller style.

I just purchased a 2018 Lexus LS 500 to replace my 2015 Lexus 460. I absolutely love the new Lexus LS 500 and got the executive package with the pano roof, Levinson 22 speaker sound system, adaptive cruise control.ect. I feel this blows aways the BMW and Mercedes. I won’t even comment on the Hyundai because I owned a 2008 Genesis and it was garage . The sticker on the 2018 Lexus was around $106, 000and i paid $50, 000 for one with 11, 000 miles.

People are criticizing the new LS but honestly to me the new S-class and 7-series look like they come from a different planet. This to me still feels like a traditional luxury car. Sure it's got some gadgets but they haven't gone overboard with it.

13:38 the new touch infotainment system was first introduced with 2021 not with the 2023, the 2023 got new button in the middle where they removed old one and put physical heating and cooling for seats and have the camera and other button nicely bellow the climate area

My gripe with the LS 500 are the tires. I have a 2021 LS500, paid over 90, 000 dollars for the car and it came with those cheap Dunlap run flat tires that only last 10, 000 miles. Out of my pocket I had to upgrade my tires to Michelines.

A great and informative video once more. I’m still in love with the 2016 LS460, the buttery smooth V8 is so satisfying, nothing beats the V8> displacement, the smoothness of a V8, V10 etc is just unmatched.
The future is in smaller engines with turbos I guess.

I had a 06' LS430 UL and a 17' GS-F. Now eyeballing for a LS500 FS rwd. Lexus has over engineered the LS and GS for many years. For those of us who have given these vehicles a chance, we learned nothing else on the road is equal.

Great information! I am going to upgrade from the LS460 and I love the limousine feel and didn’t want to loose that. I was going to go with the 2018 but I see the 2021- makes a difference.
Thanks

Yes, the 2021 model is a must if only to experience the increased levels of comfort, there again this raises a dilemma, the 2018 infotainment system cosseted tucked away for a more refined cohesive appearance, not to mention the exterior front bumper with it's intricacies in design detailing, exquisitely blending an aggressive appearance with beauty, poise, presence. This summarised, would mean losing useful attributes from each individual 2018, 2021, 2023 models. Personally 2018 is the favoured year.

This is one of those cars ill buy in a few years for under 25k, absolutely love them. There's some decent 2018 models in my area for 30k already.

How would you compare build quality, ride quality, and cabin noise vs the LS430?

Pete_or_PeterLong

Absolutely agree, the regular black interior looks superior to the F-sport.

Lexus shouldn't have capitulated from a V8 to a V6 with the LS 500. What a disappointment it is.

My biggest gripe being a 430 UL owner is that the 500 is small as hell inside. I'm not comfortable in it. Theres no excuse to have headroom and legroom that small while being massive outside. And the lack of V8 hurts. Horrible tech implementation as well Beautiful car, I prefer the pre face lift but it's those gripes that I have that had me scratching my head thinking wtf were y'all doing? That's where Genesis has taken over for me with what they are bringing to the table.
