The 70's is the greatest decade of music we have ever seen.

Steve Marriott was my guitar teacher and great influence on me. He was 1 of God's gift to humanity. And he knew it. But he was chill. Rip Steve

Steve Marriott was a cool, funky, small statured English rocker. that boy could sing. Losing him in a house fire is truly tragic!

I don’t know why, but the “Alright, Alright, Alright, Alright” in the beginning just makes me feel so ready for the song, no matter how many times I hear this song!

The incomparable Steve Marriott on vocals and Peter Frampton's genius guitar playing. Doesn't get better than this...

Steve Marriot passed away at home as he slept, I believe, in 1991. He was only 44. We were numbed by the losses of so many gone to soon rock icons of the greatest music era ever but Marriott's was especially crushing to me because he'd still be relevant and delivering the goods as only he could even now, IMO.

One of the most contagious songs to come out in the '70s. Still gets me jumpin' and singing at 64 yrs old ♥️

Saw them live in ‘71 at the Electric Factory in Philly. Loved it. I think there was a little orange sunshine involved.

Steve Marriott (the singer here) was a member of the Small Faces. After he left, the band called themselves "The Faces" and hired Rod Stewart as a singer; the were also in the Jeff beck Group, whose album "Truth" is just excellent. There are many live concerts of the Faces here on YT, too, check them out.

Humble Pie was my first concert &
Smokin was my favorite rock album for so many years. Marriot was so vocally soulful. There will never be another like him.

It does my heart good to see the younger crowd digging on Humble Pie. I love it! Steve Marriot definitely has soul!

Steve Marriott (Lead vocals) of Humble Pie was so damn talented, yet underrated. Dude's voice was so full of soul. Like so many of these folks, Steve has moved on to be with the Lord.
Thanks for not playing the same stuff as everybody else. Yes this is "Classic Rock" alright, but it's not what everyone else is reacting to.

Steve didn't pass away until the 90's but it was still a great loss. So much good music! A Lot of people dont know but none of his first performances was as The Artful Dodger in the Original Oliver Twist Movie! He sang that song Consider Yourself At Home, Consider Yourself one of the Family. He was a young teen at the time. If you ever watch the original movie and hear him talk, you will hear that same voice when he interacts with this audience during concerts.

Yea iam the one that turned you on to Humble Pie. Iam 64 yo, i love it that your open to the rock music of the 70s, 80s and even early 80s. It was such a great time for music. I knew if younger people would listen you would appreciate it.

Such a big soulful voice for such a smaller guy. He was a real treasure.

Saw these fellows back in 72, putting out their "SMOKIN" album. Nothing short of fantastic.
